Since October 2021, Human Aid & Advocacy has been participating in the post-war recovery of Afghanistan after four decades of conflicts and wars.
On 3 August 2023, a delegation of British Imams and Muslim scholars led by Human Aid & Advocacy concluded an 8-day humanitarian visit to Afghanistan.
The humanitarian visit was organised in coordination with a fact-finding mission led by Prosper Afghanistan, a community initiative dedicated to furthering understanding of Afghanistan, which facilitated a series of meetings between the scholars and Afghan officials.
The Muslim leaders travelled from Britain in order to better understand the humanitarian needs of the Afghan people and witness some of the current aid projects established by Human Aid & Advocacy in the country.
This includes:
- an orphanage
- a widow’s skills training centre
- a vocational skills centre
- an aid delivery to Kapisa province
To mark the successful completion of this visit, Human Aid & Advocacy has committed to support a girls’ school in Paghman, currently educating over 100 girls.
Human Aid & Advocacy continues to call for the end of sanctions that are collectively punishing the Afghan people.
