Walk for Water
Event Ended

Imagine having 90% of the water in your region unfit to drink!

Unfortunately, that is the case in Gaza. The entire population of Gaza relies on a single underground aquifer. 97% of its water produced is contaminated by sea water, sewage, and chemicals. It is estimated that around 80% of the Palestinians in Gaza are forced to buy treated water from desalination plants that work to filter the contaminated aquifer.

Alhamdulillah, last year through Walk for Water we managed to raise enough funds to install two Solar Water units in Yemen!

This Ramadan, join us again as we walk up and down the country to provide a Water Desalination Plant in Gaza.

Without clean drinking water, the Palestinian people are deprived of a basic necessity to survive, as well as falling extremely ill due to the conditions such as kidney stones and renal disease in general.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]
