After nearly a year of relentless bombardment in the Gaza Strip, Israel is now escalating their onslaught on Lebanon. On 23rd September, Lebanon witnessed the single deadliest day in 34 years, as Israeli strikes killed at least 585 people and wounded 1,645, including many women, children and emergency workers.
Since then, an estimated 1 million people have been displaced, with scenes of gridlock and chaos as terrified residents flee southern Lebanon with no idea where to go or how to provide for their families. Already amid a crippling economic crisis, Israel’s latest aggression has left many Lebanese families in desperate need of basic assistance.
Despite the horrific situation, the people of Lebanon are responding with great honour, dignity and determination.
