Press Release: Prosecute Genocide

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

07/10/2024

Subject: Press Release: Prosecute Genocide

October 7th marks one year since the Zionist Occupation initiated its devastating campaign against the people of Gaza and Palestine, leading to widespread destruction, immense suffering, and severe disruptions to the delivery of humanitarian aid. These actions have crippled Gaza's ability to recover and rebuild.

To mark this day, Human Aid & Advocacy is launching the 'Prosecute Genocide' campaign, aimed at pressuring British authorities to hold accountable those who have participated in war crimes and violations of international law.

Today we will be projecting our campaign messaging on a digital campaign van around London to raise awareness and direct people to act by sending a letter to the Metropolis commissioner Sir Mark Rowley demanding he open investigations into British nationals returning from supporting the Israeli Offence Forces (IOF).

The UK has a legal and moral obligation to prosecute its nationals who travel abroad to participate in, support, or profit from such atrocities.

We call on community leaders, our donors, and the public to take part in this campaign:

  1. Email the Metropolitan Police Commissioner to demand they open criminal investigations into British nationals who have joined the Israeli military and participated in war crimes against Palestinians. Prosecute | Human Aid & Advocacy
  2. Change your social icon to #ProsecuteGenocide  Prosecute | Human Aid & Advocacy
  3. Spread the message! Share our campaign posts on social media!
  4. Join public demonstrations and events and grab our #ProsecuteGenocide placard at our stall.

Organisation Background

Human Aid & Advocacy have been delivering aid to war-torn communities, including Gaza since 2007. We embarked on the journey to expand our remits into advocacy in 2022 because we believe in order to truly impact people, distributing aid is not enough, we need to be vocal and speak up about the real causes of oppression. In this way, we want to empower people towards self-determination and self-sufficiency, instead of making them dependent on our aid.

We are uncompromising against injustice, lift oppression, and support survivors to regain their freedom and independence in countries affected by war and persecution.

Aid must go hand in hand with Advocacy. Aid is the immediate response while Advocacy is the long-term effort to remove the need for aid. The focus of our Advocacy will be to:

  1. Draw public attention to the real causes of war and persecution of Muslims.
  2. Provide a voice to the survivors of war and persecution and advocating justice for them.
  3. Encourage sustainable solutions which leads to self-sufficiency and self-determination.
