An estimated 67,000 Uyghurs have fled to Turkey from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in Western China. Many refugees left their homeland as a result of the assimilation and discriminatory policies of the Chinese government, particularly towards Uygur and Kazakh communities. After fleeing to Turkey from cultural genocide in China, Uyghur refugees are left facing overwhelming uncertainty.

Which of our projects are zakat eligible?
Zakat must be owned by the recipient, therefore our Iftar/Food packs and cash assistance are all Zakat eligible. This has been checked by our scholars board as well as the Islamic Finance Advisory (IFA).
We are distributing aid to the displaced Uyghur population, as well as advocating for the rights of the Uyghur people.
Allah says in Surah al-Hadid: "Believe in Allah and His Messenger and donate from what He has entrusted you with. Those of you who believe and donate will have a mighty reward."
