My Story

Our father passed away suddenly in the summer of 2015, 8 years ago. He was a GP by trade and active within the community. He was a khateeb and spoke at masajid all over London each Ramadan and throughout the year, from ELM to Al Manaar, Hounslow to Ealing masjid. He was always close to the masjid, and wanted the community to stay connected to it, to encourage the youth to attend programmes at the mosque. For the masjid to be a hub for the community, not just a place where people pray. Building a masjid is an incredible form of sadaqah jariyah, and one that is especially close to our father’s heart, given his closeness to the masjid. We intend to raise the full amount inshaAllah to have a masjid built in his name in Syria. “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

The Story

Syria Mosque

Schools and Masjids have been targeted by bombings and destroyed.

A peaceful uprising against the regime turned into a full-scale war, leaving half a million people dead, and immeasurable devastation. There are over 6.9 million Syrians internally displaced. Despite this, the Syrian people remain resilient and defiant against oppression and continue to have hope that they will one day soon rebuild their home.

Across Syria, Human Aid & Advocacy are helping Syrians recover from trauma, as well as delivering lifesaving support.

Many places of prayer and community have been targeted and destroyed. The Syria Mosque project aims to reconstruct these salient hubs of the Islamic community, providing a place of worship, community and education for displaced individuals.

Consisting of a prayer hall and ablution facilities, the Syria Mosque project provides a welcoming space for the rural Idlib local community.

Mosque construction takes between 6 to 8 months.

Your donation will support the reconstruction of these salient hubs of the Islamic community.

Donate today and reap the reward of donating to this coveted opportunity for Sadaqah Jariyah.
