Part of being a powerful movement for change is understand the world around us and the narratives that shape it. This is why we believe advocating for the rights of our Palestinian brothers and sisters is crucial and we cannot sit in silence. The people of Palestine have every right to resit and their right upon us to defend their honour and support them in whatever way we can. Palestine holds a special place in our hearts as Masjid al-Aqsa is mentioned in the Qu’ran. The same revelation which tells us “The believers, both men and women, are guardians of one another. They encourage good and forbid evil...” [9:71]. So, it is our responsibility to relieve the hardships our Palestinian brothers and sisters face, and we should ease some of the many difficulties they experience in their right to resistance, as we know that Allah helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. The reality is more than 1,000 youth from the Palestinian people have been murdered by the Israeli occupation in the span of 10 days or so, as a Muslim youth organisation this deeply affects us. Our brothers and sisters have shown great resolve in the face of these atrocities and it our duty to now help them in every way possible and to speak out on behalf of the Muslim youth and assist all the Muslims across Palestine, especially Gaza.
